Areas We Serve
Cheadle
Here are just some of the areas we serve around the historic market town of Cheadle, Staffordshire.
Cheadle is referred to in the Doomsday Book of 1086. It was originally known as Celle and was “owned” by Robert of Stafford, the lord of the manor.
Cheadle’s local economy has developed from corn grinding in 1309, farming in the 17th century and weaving and brass and copper in the 18th century. This nearly 1,000 year history has left a legacy that includes the majestic St Giles Roman Catholic Church that also goes by “Pugin’s Gem”.

Uttoxeter is less than 10 miles from Cheadle. Samuel Johnson, the distinguished poet and playwright, famously stood in his hat in the rain as punishment in Uttoxeter market. Today we know this company as the globally famous JCB.
Hanley is also less than half an hour from Cheadle. It is one of the six towns that form Stoke-on-Trent. To the south of Stoke-on-Trent is Stone, also just 10 miles from Cheadle Hearing Centre. It is home to the The National Association of Chimney Sweeps!
